The mission of the Tanglewood Hillsdale Community Association is to enhance the quality of life and promote community spirit, representing the views of its membership, and participating in charitable, educational and recreational activities.

Winners Circle: Halloween

We will be judging your Halloween Decorations October 31st!

In the Fall, we judge the Halloween Decorations on October 31. Judges will look for Animation (moving parts), Sound Effects, Special Effects (fog, lightning & so forth), Interaction (feeling like part of the scene when visiting), and Effective Use of Space. Wow us with your decor. Winners will receive a neighbourhood builders award certificate, presented at our Annual General Luncheon/Meeting, on a Saturday near the beginning of November.

Community garden

The Tanglewood Park Community Garden was built April – May 2017, and consists of 4' x 8' garden boxes. This garden is 100% organic. Currently, all 12 boxes are rented and planted.

Children’s Art Classes

Tanglewood Community Center - Hillsdale hall

The children will have fun drawing and exploring acrylic painting, plus a little bit of Art History!
Day: Tuesday Oct 10 to Dec 5 (not Oct 31)
Time: 4 to 5 pm OR
Day: Saturday Oct 14 to Dec 9 (not Nov 25)
Time: 9:15 to 10:15am
Cost: $64 for 8 weeks (THCA Members $4 less)

Young at Hearts Social Club For Seniors 55+ and Persons with disabilities

Tanglewood Community center, 30 Woodfield Drive, from 1:00-3:00 PM. See dates below

Activities are provided for a small donation fee of $2.00.. No formal registration required, simply show up at the front entrance.
This is a great way to stay active within the community. meet with friends and make new ones with your friendly neighbors.
Dates as follows:
August 21 - Ice Cream Sundaes & more
September 18 - Nutritionist speaker (Details closer to date)
October 16 - Various games tables - ie board games, cribbage
November 20- Card Making most materials supplied
December 18 - Pot luck lunch on site
January 22 - Movie & popcorn - on site

Fitness – YOGALATES (Register and Pay on-line)

Tanglewood Park Community Centre - Hillsdale Hall

In this class, we combine pilates and yoga for a total body workout focused on toning the glutes, thighs and stomach. Develop your core strength and stabilization through pilates poses, and improve your flexibility, muscular strength, posture and alignment through yoga poses, breathing and relaxation. Please bring a mat.
Day: Thursdays Time: 7:30 – 8:30 pm
Date: Sept 21 to Nov 2 and Nov 9 to Dec 21
Cost: $64 for 7 weeks (THCA members $4 less)
Drop-in $10 per class (no discount for drop-in)

Working with co-manager of Programs & Events Manager (External) and with other team members, develops and evaluates Centre programs, as well as hires instructors.  Collaborates with third-party program providers such as the City.
