Hydro One maintenance

Hydro One will be maintaining the hydro corridor in August 2019. In the map Merivale TS can be seen in the top right corner, and the line then runs through Medhurst Park, across Woodfield and out to Woodroffe.

Free Seniors Exercise Classes

Weekly Tuesday 2:30-3:30 or Thursday 2:30-3:30.

Attend as many classes or stay at a class as long as you like! These are chair exercise classes with some standing for balance exercises. Range of Motion, Rhythm and Co-ordination, Strength and Balance

Taoist Tai chi classes

Thursdays Winter session Jan 9 to Feb 27 Spring session March 5 to April 23 THCA members $46 THCA non-members $50 for 8 weeks

Taoist Tai Chi arts calm the mind and refresh the body. They help improve balance, circulation and posture as well as increase strength and flexibility, promote relaxation and reduce stress. Practitioners, including those with specific health concerns such as high blood pressure, arthritis, low bone density, high cholesterol, MS or Parkinson’s, have all found benefits through the practice of this ancient Taoist art.

FREE Mixed Sport and Activities for Children

Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:00pm Inside and Outside the Community center at 30 Woodfield Drive

Attendant of Public Skate Change Room – end of December to end of February

As a volunteer, you are a member of the Outdoor Activities team responsible to open and oversee the public skate change room of the Centre from 4:14 to 6:15 Monday to Friday stating in end of Dec and ending Feb 28 weather permitting. Depending on the number of volunteers interested this would be a two or three day a week commitment. You work primarily with our Rink Supervisor. You are at least 17 years old and prepared to obtain a Working with Vulnerable Persons Clearance from the Police. Community Volunteer Hour program applies. Additional hours could be obtained by helping to clear and flood the rink, and volunteering to help at our Winter Carnival.
