The Ottawa Police Service will proudly be running the Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI) Program. This 2014 versions of YIPI are for youth 15-18 years of age (as of September 1st, 2014) attending a secondary school program and residing in the city of Ottawa.
The Spring version is an after-school employment program (12 hrs per week) and the Summer version (35 hrs per week) includes 2 Co-op credits gained.
This unique opportunity will provide the youth with valuable work-experience and training in a police and community work environment. The program is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and designed with an emphasis for youth facing barriers to success for a variety of reasons but who are work-ready and demonstrating leadership potential.
Please consider promoting the program and if you are endorsing an applicant please ask the applicant to make note in their letter of interest when they apply. There is limited space and not all applicants can be placed in the program.
