Clean-up the Capital 2017 Event – Thanks to Redeemer Christian High School Students

Students from Redeemer Christian High School located on Colonnade Road spent May 3rd cleaning up our community. As part of their service day, the students cleaned-up the tennis, basketball and road hockey courts and community centre.  Collecting the leaves was made hard because the leaves were so wet.

Students could not believe the number of worms they discovered between wet decaying leaves. In total hundreds – big and small.  Where to put them… on the ground or in the compost bags. The most frequently asked question: “Would they die if they were put in the bags?”

The morning group dealt with arctic conditions brrr!

The afternoon group were ambitious and not only cleaned the Centre’s windows and tables but filled so many bags that more were needed from Rona.
