Ottawa Crime Prevention: Paint it up

Have an art design or location you are looking to make a mural? Crime Prevention Ottawa is proving funding for outdoor mural art projects supporting youth empowerment, graffiti prevention, community safety for the beautification of Ottawa neighbourhoods! Want to know more? Check out the website, http://www.crimepreventionottawa.ca/en/initiatives/paint-it-up or attend an info session Monday, February 26th from 1:30-3:00pm at City Hall, or Wednesday February 28th 5:30-7:00pm at St. Laurent Complex. Applications must be postmarked, e-mailed, or received by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018.

 

Garden Days June 16th– 24th Gardening is something to be celebrated! June 16th – 24th 2018 Garden Days, a program of the Canadian Garden Council, is a joyful, country-wide celebration of the role of gardens in our communities and in our lives. This nine-day program of activities and events is for gardening enthusiasts, families, schools and tourists alike. Garden Days is an opportunity for Canadians to enjoy their own garden, visit or take part in their favourite garden experience, get inspired at their local garden centre or travel to a nearby destination to enjoy their favourite garden.

Rain Barrel Fundraiser

Just Food is hosting a Rain Barrel Fundraiser in Spring 2018, please share with your networks.

You can start looking at what will be available at this link: https://rainbarrel.ca/justfood/, according to ranbarrel.ca they will be updating the page & launching it on March 22nd.

Pick up for the rain barrels will be at Just Food Farm, 2391 Pepin Crt. on April 29th.

The CGDF is taking Applications

The Community Garden Development Fund is taking applications. You can find the applications on this page on the Just Food website:  http://justfood.ca/community-gardening-network/community-garden-development-fund/. If you are looking at an expansion, or an infrastructure enhancement project then this is a good opportunity to get a project going.

In this email you’ll also find other grant pockets available for events, as well as the City’s Community Environmental Project Grants Program.  Please look these over if you are looking at funding that is not eligible for the CGDF

TD Canada Trust Park People Grants

TD Park People launched a new $2,000 grant for community groups who organize events in parks and green spaces within Ottawa! Anything from movie nights, to harvest festivals or nature walks, TD wants to help create meaningful engagement in local parks. Are you committed to hosting 3 events in 2018, have the ability to register your group with Park People and have an overall passion for engaging your community? Applications close March 5th, 2018 and all park land is eligible with landowner approval – if you are planning an event on NCC or City land, or have any further questions, please be in touch with us at [email protected].

 

The City of Ottawa: City’s Community Environmental Projects Grant Program

Are you looking for an opportunity to put your environmental ideas into action? The City of Ottawa is now accepting applications for the 2018 Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP).

CEPGP provides funding to community groups and non-profit organizations to undertake environmental stewardship projects that support an environmentally sustainable Ottawa. Applications close Saturday, March 31, 2018.

Successful CEPGP grant recipients must complete their projects within one year of receiving their funds. For details on eligibility criteria, the application process, profiles of past projects, and to download an application form, please visit Ottawa.ca/cepgp.
