Volunteers Urgently Needed This Week to Plant Food for Emergency Food Program

1. Volunteers urgently needed Monday to plant food for emergency food programs
We just received 1000 sweet potato slips at the Just Food Farm to grow for emergency food programs and we have buckets of beans as well.
We are planting this Monday, June 1st.
Please come on out to plant!
WHEN: 10am-2pm (or earlier if finished)
WHERE: 2391 Pepin Court
RSVP: Please email [email protected] this weekend to let us know you are coming
Please bring your own shovel and water.
Meet Linzi at the Red Barn, and she will direct you to the plot where Phil is leading the planting.
2. Volunteers Needed to put Soil and Compost into Bags
We still need help to finish up the Kids Gardening Project and to prepare mushroom compost for community gardens.
What will you be doing? Filling up bags of soil for the kids gardening kits (we are almost done!) and filling up bags of compost to go to community gardens across the city.
WHEN: Slots are available each day from Monday, June 1 to Thursday, June 4
Please pick from any of the following time slots:
9am-11am or 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm
WHERE: Just Food Farm, 2391 Pepin Court
RSVP: Please fill out this Google Form and indicate which time slot works best for you

These are the perfect opportunities to do with your teenage kids (preferably in groups of 2. Maximum 3)! Please keep in mind that they can also count their time towards high school volunteer hours.
All activities will maintain physical distancing.
