Mid-July Hydro One Merivale Transformer Station Update
Mid July update on the progress at the Merivale Transformer Station.
- The first new transformer was delivered earlier this month and installed successfully!
- As the next step set to occur the week of July 21, Hydro One will move into the commissioning phase of the new transformer. This involves vacuuming the system around the clock for approximately one week This work is not expected to generate major noise. The vacuum operates at a similar decibel level to a typical residential air conditioner and will remain fully compliant with the City’s noise bylaws. Two crew members will be on site overnight to monitor the system and ensure safety throughout this phase
- The second transformer is expected to arrive toward the end of the month. Same measures that were in place when the first transformer moved through the neighbourhood will again be in place.
