Spring Clean-up 2025
Forty-seven students and their teachers/supervisors from Redeemer Christian High School [Colonnade Dr.] spent an hour and half cleaning up the Centre, courts, landscape gardens, park/greenspace, play structures and ball diamond of the Park. The City provided garbage bags and gloves, Tim Hortons donated Timbits and THCA contributed Leaf bags, litter grabber tools and water.
Annet, George, Graeme, Niki and Pauline from THCA helped to ensure the students had an enjoyable but productive visit. Most youth gained first-hand experience that after winter litter becomes a common issue as snow melts and that most everyday disposables products are slow to biodegrade if at all. Groups were assigned to sectors and specific tasks. The students become aware of the extent of litter after winter and become more aware of proper waste disposal. Spring cleaning through the efforts of the students helps to improve the community’s overall appearance and impact on the environment. We greatly appreciate their help.
