Tanglewood Park Community Centre Rental Rates / Guides

How much does it cost to rent the Community Centre?
The cost of renting depends on which rooms you want, what equipment you need, the type and duration of the activity/event you are planning.

Full-Building Rental Rate:

The rate for a PRIVATE full-building rental is $45.00/hour (NO LIQUOR) and $60.00/hour (WITH LIQUOR) which includes exclusive use of Hillsdale Hall, Lions Den, Lounge and Kitchen. The multi-purpose room is included as additional space, except during the winter skating season (shared access to washrooms).

Meeting, Course or Program Rental:    Not-For-Profit activity rates do not apply after 4:00 PM on Saturday, refer to Special Event Schedules

Not-For-Profit Activity:    To qualify for the rates in this schedule:

  • Your event must be open to the general public
  • Your event must provide a community service or program
  • Your organization must be recognized by the City of Ottawa

Special Event Without Liquor:

Applies to all events which are Open to Members or by Invitation only and/or intended for select members of the community.

Rules and Regulations:

01. Rental fees are paid by cheque, cash, or upon request by PayPal link emailed to you (we do not have on-site debit or credit processing facilities).  Refunds can be issued by cheque only, and can take up to 30 days to process. A $25.00 service charge will be levied against payments returned by the bank due to insufficient funds or payments not cleared.
02. Rental periods are a minimum of two (2) hours, in 30 minute increments.
03. Rental Periods start when facility door is opened and cease once clean-up is complete. A rental group that stays longer than the agreed upon time will be charged the applicable room rental fee for each additional hour or portion thereof.
04. Rates Schedules above are effective November 2016.
05. Special Events with Liquor are subject to mandatory insurance coverage.
06. Organizers of Special Events with Liquor are required to read the City of Ottawa’s Planning Guide for Hosting An Event, available on the City of Ottawa’s website at (Ottawa.ca). The site links you to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s website, which provides specific information on obtaining a Special Occasion Permit (SOP).
07. The rental group must set-up and put away, in its original place, all furniture and equipment used during the rental and leave the rented space clean and tidy.
08. Storage:  per year $25.00 to $50.00
09. THCA members receive a discount of $4.00 per Booking (maximum 2 per year)
10. All reservations are subject to a $200.00 deposit which is fully refundable if there is no damage and you have complied with the terms and conditions of your rental permit. This deposit must be paid by separate cheque.
11. A cancellation fee is payable whenever a reservation is cancelled: Fee based on primary room booked = $50.00 Hillsdale Hall and $25.00 Lions Den.  A $25.00 amendment fee is payable for revisions to any fully executed rental permit.
12. Evidence of third party liability insurance is required. Note: this insurance may be available from your insurance broker as an extension of your current home policy. Alternatively, you can purchase insurance through the TPCC, ask our facility scheduler for details. Expect to know details of your insurance when completing the permit. Details must be finalized before keys to the facility are provided.
