TPCC Run Programs

To register for TPCC run programs offered below:

1) We invite you to join some of our programs by registering and paying as a participant on-line.

2) Mail completed Registration Waiver and Release and a cheque payable to “Tanglewood Park Community Center” 30 Woodfield Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2G 3Y5

3) Drop-off your completed registration form and your payment at:
30 Woodfield Drive, mailbox is located to the left of the main entrance.

4) Attend a program and register there.

Young at Hearts’ 55+ Social Club (Now twice a month)

Twice a month on Monday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a variety of Fun activities. Second and fourth Monday of the month.  For anyone interested a book club session follows from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
(Some months may change due to Holidays on the fourth Monday) check poster for dates and specific activities

Free Seniors Exercise Classes

Weekly Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-3:30.   Attend as many classes or stay at a class as long as you like!  These are chair exercise classes with some standing for balance exercises. Range of Motion, Rhythm and Co-ordination, Strength and Balance

T-ball {3 to 8 yrs}

Due to closures being extended, this program will be cancelled for this year

May 28 to June 25  from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesdays (5 weeks)
Learn the basics of playing baseball
For children 3 to 8 years old in the baseball diamond beside the Community Centre
Cost: THCA Members $6 Non-Members $10

Children’s Soccer {4 to 10 yrs}

Due to closures being extended, this program will be cancelled for this year

Thursdays May 30 – Aug 1, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm (10 weeks)
Learn the Basics of Soccer For children 4 to 10 years old in the field near the Community Center but on the other side of the trees
Cost: THCA Members $16 Non-members $20

Youth Soccer {10 to 17 years}

Due to closures being extended to the end of June, this program will be shortened for this year

Day: Saturdays Time: 5-6pm

Adult Soccer {18 to 40 years}

Tai chi class   {18+ yrs}

This class is a series that will run 8 weeks. Winter session is Video run and is Yang Tai Chi NOT Taoist Tai Chi

Taoist Tai Chi(R) arts calm the mind and refresh the body.  They help improve balance, circulation and posture as well as increase strength and flexibility, promote relaxation and reduce stress.  Practitioners, including those with specific health concerns such as high blood pressure, arthritis, low bone density, high cholesterol, MS or Parkinson’s, have all found benefits through the practice of this ancient Taoist art.

Day: Thursdays    Time: 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Date: Winter session Jan 9 to Feb 27 (Video guided)
Spring session March 5 to April 23 (Instructor guided)

Cost: Free for winter session

THCA members $46 for 8 classes
Non-members $50 for 8 classes.

Learn to skate

Small group instruction for any age (weather permitting) Learn the basics of skating. There will be no refunds for lessons canceled due to bad weather ( but a class may be added on to the end on February 23) at the discretion of the instructor and dependant on the weather conditions.

WHERE:  TCR – Tanglewood community Rink
WHEN:  Saturdays, January 25, 2020 to Feb 22, 2020 11:00 to 11:45, 11:45 to 12:30 or 12:30 to 1:15 pm
or Sundays Jan 19, 2020 to Feb 16, 2020 1 to 1:45
EQUIPMENT needed:   Skates and helmet for child
COST:  $25 for 5 weeks If you are a THCA Member then one person in your household can have a $4 discount on the cost of these lessons.

Parents need to stay in the building or on the ice during the lessons.
