Previous Hockey Day Tournaments: 2018

—The Hockey Day Tournament in Ward 9 was held on February 15 at Trend Arlington’s outdoor rink. Tanglewood Tigers (Jordon Young, captain, Khaled Ibrahim, Mohamed, Amir, and Yahya Saad) saw us come second place!
We hope to see you next year!

Join in the fun on Saturday February 15, 2020 by entering a team in the 10th annual “Hockey Day in Ward 9” tournament!

Hosted by the Trend Arlington Community Association and Knoxdale-Merivale Council of Community Associations, “Hockey Day in Ward 9” is a fun and healthy opportunity to participate in Canada’s favourite winter pastime on an outdoor rink. What could be more Canadian!

“Hockey Day in Ward 9” is part of CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada and the City of Ottawa’s Hockey Day festivities. Hot chili, coffee and hot chocolate will be provided for all players and fans. The winning team(s) will be declared 2020 Hockey Day Champion and get to claim the trophy!

We are inviting players from across Ward 9 to form teams and register for this great event. This year we are registering through an online form that you will find at the end of this message. All teams must register by February 10!

WHEN: Saturday February 15, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:00pm

WHERE: Trend Arlington Park @ 50 Bellman Drive

TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team will consist of four players: 2 players must be 14 years old or older, and 2 players must be 13 years old or younger. At least 1 player from each team must live or own a business located in Ward 9.

Teams may identify as “competitive” or “non-competitive”. If we have sufficient teams register, we may divide the tournament into two skill levels. The aim is for every team to play at a level they are comfortable with.
